Care Instructions

Each piece from Ariel's Embrace is made to be worn, loved, and kept. A little mindful care goes a long way — here's how to cherish every fabric in your wardrobe.

A few good habits for every fabric
🏷️
Always check the care label before washing — it knows best.
🌑
Wash darks inside out to preserve colour and prevent fading.
🌬️
Air drying is almost always the gentler choice.
🧴
Use a gentle, fragrance-free detergent when in doubt.
🌡️
Cold water is safer for most fabrics — and better for the planet.
✂️
Treat stains immediately — the sooner, the better.

Silk & Satin
  • Hand wash in cold water with a gentle silk-safe detergent
  • Never wring or twist — press gently in a towel to remove excess water
  • Lay flat or hang to dry, away from direct sunlight
  • Iron on the lowest setting while slightly damp, or use a steamer
  • Store folded in a cool, dry place or in a breathable fabric bag
🧶
Knit
  • Hand wash or use the delicate cycle in a mesh laundry bag
  • Use cool water and a mild detergent
  • Lay flat to dry — hanging can stretch the fabric out of shape
  • Fold for storage; avoid wire hangers
  • Remove pilling gently with a fabric shaver
🌾
Linen
  • Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water
  • Use a gentle, colour-safe detergent
  • Tumble dry on low, or hang to dry for best results
  • Iron while slightly damp on a medium-high setting
  • Linen softens beautifully with every wash — embrace the texture
☁️
Cotton
  • Machine wash on a normal or gentle cycle
  • Wash darks separately in cold water to preserve colour
  • Tumble dry on medium heat, or line dry
  • Iron on a medium to high setting as needed
  • Pre-wash before wearing to prevent future shrinkage
🌸
Lace
  • Always hand wash in cool water with a delicate detergent
  • Never scrub — gently swirl and soak
  • Roll in a clean towel to absorb water; do not wring
  • Lay flat on a dry towel to reshape and dry
  • Store flat or loosely folded; avoid compression
👖
Denim
  • Wash inside out in cold water to protect the colour
  • Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent
  • Air dry whenever possible — tumble drying can cause fading
  • Wash less frequently to maintain the fit and colour
  • Spot-clean minor stains between washes
Synthetics
  • Machine wash on a gentle or synthetic cycle with cold water
  • Use a low-spin setting to reduce stretching
  • Avoid high heat in the dryer — air dry when possible
  • Iron on the lowest setting, or steam; never iron directly
  • Store folded to maintain shape and avoid static
🐑
Wool & Cashmere
  • Hand wash in cool water with a wool-safe detergent, or dry clean
  • Never wring — gently press out excess water with a towel
  • Lay flat to dry to preserve the shape
  • Fold for storage — never hang, as it will stretch
  • Use cedar blocks to naturally protect against moths

Not sure about your fabric? When in doubt — hand wash cold, lay flat, and air dry.
A little extra care never hurt a beautiful piece.

How to Store Your Pieces
The way you store your clothes matters just as much as how you wash them.
Hang these
  • Dresses, blouses, and tops
  • Use wide, padded or wooden hangers
  • Leave space between garments — let them breathe
  • Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading
Fold these
  • Knits, sweaters, and jersey pieces
  • Denim and heavy bottoms
  • Delicate items like silk and lace
  • Store in breathable cotton bags, not plastic
General storage tips
  • Always store clean — oils and stains set over time
  • Use cedar blocks to naturally deter moths
  • Keep a cool, dry, dark environment
  • Avoid wire hangers — they distort the shape
Seasonal storage
  • Wash everything before storing for the season
  • Use breathable garment bags for delicates
  • Fold bulky items flat in storage boxes
  • Check for moisture — never store in damp spaces
